A really useful site for information that is particularly relevant to anyone of African racial origin.

Combined Health Information Database

A vast database of abstracts of health information from dozens of sources. Although these are only abstracts they are well indexed and fully referenced. A valuable resource especially for the serious researcher.

Health on the Net Foundation

The Health on the Net Foundation is a non profit organization in Geneva. They produce a respected code of conduct for health websites. Medhunt their searchable website database is really well annotated and weighted so that it comes up with the best and most useful websites from your search.

Health News Update

The site has news items and provides a link to the health pages of the major US news providers, including CNN, Reuters, USA Today and the New York Times.

Health Scout at Phys

An interesting site with useful information on general health and fitness.

Martindale's Health Science Guide

Jim Martindale's Guide is one of the wonders of the Net. The information linked from this site is amazing. There is so much that it could never be absolutely simple to find your way around but it isn't too difficult. The greater danger is that you will be distracted by something too fascinating to ignore but not what you were looking for. Put some time aside just to potter around the site and its links.

National Library of Medicine

The US Government's Medical Library Site has some very large and very useful resources. These include Medline which has abstracts and citations for health related research papers. This bibliographic database consists of more than 9 million records taken from nearly 4,000 journals yet it is not to difficult to search. There is also the Images from the History of Medicine which has 60,000 images, again the database is full searchable.

Reuters Health

All the recent news about health and medicine. A good place to look if you have heard a passing reference on the radio or TV and want to know a little more.

Wellness Web

A massive site with clear and accurate information on all aspects of health and wellbeing.
